The Faculty of Health Sciences also offers a Professional Master degree in Laboratory Sciences with a Laboratory Management focus. Graduation requirements include successful completion of 34 Credits, consisting of 30 credits of coursework and a 4-credits internship. Students are expected to develop enhanced problem-solving abilities and capacities to function more actively in Laboratory management.

To be eligible for admission to the program, candidates should have completed a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences or in Biology or in a related discipline. Candidates are considered on a competitive basis. 

The deadline for submitting applications is set for August 1st, 2016.

The following are the Objectives and Learning Outcomes of the Professional Master degree in Laboratory Management:

Objectives
  1. Gain basic knowledge in human diseases and diagnostic laboratory techniques.
  2. Provide students with in-depth knowledge in laboratory and healthcare management.
  3. Prepare students to manage and coordinate activities that contribute to safe practices in laboratories.
  4. Teach students how to implement knowledge of CLS rules and regulations, ethical practices, and financial management strategies.
  5. Strengthen students understanding and administrative skills in quality assurance, quality improvement and laboratory management.
  6. Provide extensive training in information system and database management.
  7. Provide students with opportunities to conduct training in various healthcare and industrial settings.
  8. Develop in students high standards of professionalism.
Outcomes
 Students graduating with a Master in Laboratory Management will be able to:
  1. Successfully manage and sustain a profitable laboratory of high standards in compliance with national and international guidelines.
  2. Create a productive laboratory setting by effectively supervising and evaluating laboratory personnel.
  3. Develop laboratory policies, rules, and regulations.
  4. Demonstrate leadership abilities and professional conduct in laboratory settings.
  5. Practice high standards of integrity and ​fairness as a laboratory manager.​​​
