    ASPH promotes the efforts of schools of public health to improve the health of very person through education, research, and policy.

    American Public Health Association (APHA) (www.apha.org).
    Is the oldest and most diverse organization of public health professionals in the world and has been working to improve public health since 1872.

    Center for Disease Control and Prevention (www.cdc.gov).
    This is a major center of the United States of America Department of Health and Human Services. It provides a wide range of up to date health information, education and statistics, of national and international relevance.

    This is a major document in the history of public health.

    Earth Summit (www.un.org/geninfo/bp/enviro.html).
    The Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro was unprecedented for a UN conference, in terms of both its size and the scope of its concerns. Twenty years after the first global environment conference, the UN sought to help governments rethink economic development and find ways to halt the destruction of irreplaceable natural resources and pollution of the planet.

    EUPHA is an international, multidisciplinary, scientific organization, bringing together around 12,000 public health experts for professional exchange and collaboration throughout Europe, and encouraging a multidisciplinary approach to public health.

    This website has all the summits, meetings, and reports that were produced to follow up the MDG that resulted from the United Nations Millennium Declaration in September 2000.

    United Nations International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) (www.iisd.ca/cairo.html).
    This is the website that has all the developments and reports pertaining to the UN population and development conference that was held in Cairo in 1994 along with the subsequent ICPDs (ICPD +5 and ICPD +10).

    MedlinePlus is a service of the National Library of Medicine at NIH. This site provides information about various health-related topics, publications, and a variety of other valuable resources.

    USDA Food & Nutrition Information Center (www.nal.usda.gov/fnic)
    The Food and Nutrition Information Center (FNIC) is one of several information centers at the National Agricultural Library (NAL), part of the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS). You can access all of FNIC's resource lists and databases, as well as many other food and nutrition related links from this award winning site.
