American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)

The American Society of Civil Engineers, ASCE is a professional body founded in 1852 to represent members of the civil engineering profession worldwide. The purpose behind it is to bring professional civil engineers together in order to improve the civil engineering profession. Student chapters at universities worldwide aim at bringing the students together with their instructors around their majors to firstly develop as engineers and to improve their communication and their profession.

The UOB ASCE student chapter was officially recognized in a ceremony on Tuesday 11 November 2014. Engineering students, faculty and staff members gathered to celebrate. Nowadays, the number of engineers is increasing significantly. The law of supply and demand must be satisfied by nature. When the supply is way more than the demand, job opportunities become scarce. Our world revolves around business and technology. Mastering the requirements of these two parameters will ensure success.

Action Plan :

Assessment :

Students will be exposed to new technologies and the way the world is developing new ideas based on reducing the effect of global warming, safe reduction of the cost of projects and many other requirements related to business and green technology.

Follow-up :

Make sure students keep up with new technology, research and design codes so that when they become engineers they will be equipped at least with the basics in order to have a good start in their careers to be.
