The Work of Banque du Liban and Capital Markets Authority 

in a Seminar at The University of Balamand-Issam Fares Faculty of Technology

The Business Management and Administration Department at the Issam Fares Faculty of Technology at the University of Balamand, organized a seminar on financial markets delivered by Mr. Wajeb Kanso, the Director of Administration, HR & Finance at Capital Markets Authority.

The seminar was attended by students, faculty members, directors of Ajyal school, the official Meniara Secondary School, Akkar International High School, the Modern School and the National Orthodox School.

In his welcoming speech, Dr. Walid Dagher explained the importance of this seminar to highlight the role of Banque du Liban (BDL) and capital markets in creating new horizons towards a future full of hope.

Dr. Kanso addressed the importance of the strategy adopted by BDL to protect the national economy,  showcasing the role of the capital markets authority. He also focused on the central role exercised by Banque du Liban in providing training to students increasing yearly.

For his part, the director of Ajyal school delivered a speech in which he called students to focus on education and knowledge as a weapon for the future.

In her intervention, Ms. Camelia Elias, stressed on the role of the University of Balamand in preparing students to enter the market.

The seminar was followed by a gathering for Dr. Kanso with students where they discussed topics on economics in the presence of the coordinator of the department of economics,  Dr. Salma Bakhit, and the coordinator of accounting studies Ms. Carol Serhan.

At the end, the IFFT presented a shield as a token of appreciation to Dr. Kanso.
