“Blockout” Team from Computer Science Department wins 2nd place in Arabic Game Jam 2016.

​For its second edition in Beirut, the Arabic Game Jam that was held in Beirut on April 5-6, 2016, challenged the best game development teams from all the Middle East & North Africa region to create a Game in 48 hours, meet developers and experts from the Game industry.

“Blockout” team, one of the two Lebanese teams who participated in the Game Jam 2016, was formed of two Computer Science Graduates (Edward Zerbe and Mazen Wafai) and two Graphic Designers from USEK (Eliane Kaydouh and Fancois Abboud).

This year, Game Jam challenged the participants to make a game from scratch during a 30-hour session. After presenting the game to a jury of international game experts, the results were announced at the MENA Game Conference (The Middle East & North Africa’s Leading Games Conference) in Beirut 7-8 April, where the Balamand team “Blockout” won the 2nd place.
