“Blockout” Team from Computer Science Department wins Second Place in Arabic Game Jam 2016.

For its second convening the Arabic Game Jam was held in Beirut on April 5-6, 2016.  Its purpose was to challenge the best game development teams from the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA) to create a game in forty-eight hours, and then meet developers and experts from the game industry.

The “BlockoutTeam”, one of two Lebanese teams to participate in this Game Jam, was composed of two computer-science graduates, Edward Zerbe and Mazen Wafai, and two graphic designers from USEK, Eliane Kaydouh and Fancois Abboud.

The challenge was to create a game from scratch during the thirty-hour session.  After presenting the game to a jury of international game experts, the results were announced at the MENA Game Conference in Beirut on 7-8 April, where the Balamand team was presented with its second place trophy.

We congratulate them!
