Ideal Business Competition

Under the IDEAL EU-Tempus project, the University of Balamand hosted the pre-final stage of the IDEAL's Business Competition. Ten teams from partner universities competed and were selected as winners of the IDEAL Business Competition who received a one-to-one focused mentoring training by Mowgli Foundation on 12, 13 and 14 June 2015 in the Glass Room of Zakhem Building.

Mowgli is an award winning, UK-headquartered mentoring organization founded to support the sustainable development of societies through the mentoring and evolution of entrepreneurs and leaders.

The aim of the competition is to provide mentoring that inspires, connects and guides entrepreneurs and leaders to overcome life's personal and business challenges, where entrepreneurs are asked to present their innovative ideas that can be turned into successful businesses.

Students in the ideal competition were asked to propose an idea that “has the greatest potential to generate revenue” where submitted ideas were kept confidential.

The finalists’ projects were from various disciplines covering biomedical, environmental, gaming, design and information technology as well as services that tackle particular needs of customers. The final selection was made based on a judging criteria that took into consideration the level of innovation, design, marketing, revenue, team, technical use, feasibility, presentation, and judges’ particular willingness to invest in this particular startup.

Youssef Yammine, a Balamand University student, reached the final stage with his project entitled “Coyl”.

The results will be announced soon.
