Civil Engineering students prizes

University of Balamand Civil Engineering department claimed  first prize in the Nation’s Second National Science Olympics Competition, in addition to claiming the third prize.

The University competed with fourteen other Lebanese universities, under the patronage of the Lebanese Ministry of Higher Education on February 27, 2016 at the Rafic Hariri University at its campus in Mechref.​

Organized in partnership with 14 universities in Lebanon:  (Lebanese University, American University of Beirut, Lebanese American University, Notre-Dame University, Beirut Arab University, USEK, Rafic Hariri University and others),  the event succeeded in bringing more than ninety five university students into direct competition in four knowledge categories including: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer and communication engineering, and civil engineering.

The Civil Engineering Department at the University of Balamand has participated in this event and was represented by Yara Daoud, Crystal Mitri, and Bahaa Tayba. 

Yara Daoud won the first place, and Bahaa Tayba won the third place, while Crystal Mitri was among the top ten participants.
