ECMRC visit to LFF

Attentive to the need to reduce the gap between the academic and the business worlds, the Faculty of Business and Management’s ECMRC organized a visit for Economics and Finance students to Libano-Française Finance, a financial company of Banque Libano-Française.

As part of its mission, the ECMRC is dedicated “to connect the academic and the business worlds by equipping students with new practical tools that can be a value added once they apply for a job,” according to Mr. Paul Douaihy, director of the Economics and Capital Markets Research Center.

In their visit to the Libano-Française Finance, students were exposed to the work that takes place on the trading floor and private banking sector.

The purpose of the visit was to acquaint students with the real needs of the financial sector and, specifically, the financial markets. Students were able to connect and interact with experts from the business and financial world and see how the theories and methods they learn in the classroom are actually applied on the job.

“It was truly an enriching experience that not only added to students’ knowledge of unconventional methods of learning, but also emphasized the importance of reading news and staying up to date with the latest global events,” said Mr. Douaihy.
