Maria Kiwan claims first place in her age category in the Beirut Marathon

Maria Kiwan, 22, a Masters student in Business Administration, claimed first prize in her age category in the Blom Bank Beirut Marathon held on November 13th. She finished the race in a time of 3 hours, 41 minutes – a personal record. Her training coach, specifically for this competition, was Dan Crisan.

An enthusiast for the sport, Maria says that what made her succeed were her dedication, daily training and focus on endurance. For his part, Dan said that Maria’s hard work and training were behind her success. He added, “The established trust between me and Maria is what made her achieve this result”. Maria concluded, “Running is not only about competing in marathons or other races. It is a culture and for me it is a lifestyle”.

The running culture is growing in Lebanon and the Beirut Marathon association, and other such associations, by organizing running events help to promote wellness and healthy living – as well as faster running!

Our warm congratulations to Maria!
