UOB and CFPJ Celebrate Their Students

After two years of hard work and a whole-lot of dedication, students of the Masters (MA) in Audiovisual Journalism program, Dania Bitar, Joy Ishac, Judy Metry, Kafaa Msaed, Miriam Atallah, Miriam Hourani and Taly Tanos received their well-deserved certificates of completion from the Centre de formation et de perfectionnement des journalistes (CFPJ).

The Paris- based organization, CFPJ, is working alongside the Mass Communication Department at the University of Balamand to ensure students are coached in all aspects of broadcast journalism, from researching and reporting to filming and editing. Courses are shared by UOB lecturers and trainers from the CFPJ, who have put together a comprehensive program that is both theoretical and practical.

Certificates were distributed in the office of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Dr. Georges Dorlian. Also present at the ceremony were Dr. Ramez Maluf, Chairperson of the Mass Communication Department, Dima Issa, Lecturer at the same department who is in charge of overseeing the program at Balamand, and Veronique Gare, Head of the International Department at CFPJ.

Dr. Maluf expressed his pride towards the students whom he called, “future ambassadors of the department,” and commended them for their achievement. “This is the first batch of graduates from our MA in Audiovisual Journalism program,” said Maluf, “and we are all excited about their future prospects.”
