The Payroll Office is responsible to the comptroller for supervising the preparation and processing of all University payrolls, including balancing and paying all deductions, benefits and taxes. It also
  • Posts hours worked by examination of time cards or time sheets, and may be responsible for the calculation of overtime;
  • Computes the national social security fund annual reports related to employees;
  • Computes quarterly and annual government tax reports;
  • Reconciles insurance liability accounts;
  • Assists university employees with problems related to payroll.


Hours of operations:   Monday to Friday     8:30 am – 5:00 pm
The Office of the Cashier is responsible for receiving and recording cash and change payments. It also
  • Receives and deposits money related to UOB operations only;
  • Receives a variety of payments and other cash and cash related transactions;
  • Provides information regarding pertinent rules, policies, and procedures related to cash and cash-related transaction: directs people to proper offices, as appropriate, to seek resolution of problems beyond the information available to the cashier;
  • Certifies all checks received and made to the order of the University of Balamand.

Student Accounts

The Office of Student Accounts is responsible for supervising student accounts activities. It also
  • Supervises students financial records;
  • Is responsible for billing, collecting and deposit of tuition and fees;
  • Issuing receipts;
  • Facilitates all agreements from third parties sponsoring students, including fees payments, housing, and other student services;
  • Offers a variety of financial services to students.

General Accounting

The General Accounting Office is responsible for directing the accounting section of the Comptroller's office. It also
  • Directs the accounting and auxiliary services sections;
  • Contributes to implementing the mission of the department;
  • Advises on financial, accounting and auditing matters;
  • Insures compliance with university and government requirements, guidelines and laws;
  • Is responsible for general accounting that involves the preparation of statistical data and financial reports;
  • Interacts with individuals, companies, and government officials regarding university business and claims.
