A-Z EBSCO Journals: Provides links to all the EBSCO e-journal titles with full-text availability.

ABI/INFORM Global (PROQUEST): Premier worldwide business periodicals.

ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry (PROQUEST): Publications to help study and compare specific trades and industries.

Academic Search Complete (EBSCO):  Multi-disciplinary full-text database, with more than 6,100 full-text periodicals, including more than 5,100 peer-reviewed journals and a total of more than 10,600 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc. The database features PDF content going back as far as 1887.

AccessEngineering (McGraw-Hill): Provides electronic access to over 280 books in the major areas of engineering such as: biomedical, chemical, civil, communications, construction, electrical, energy, environmental, green/sustainable, industrial, material science, mechanical, nanotechnology, and optical engineering.

AccessMedicine (McGraw-Hill): Full text, graphics, images and illustrations of the most recent editions of medical reference books from McGraw-Hill, including access to USMLEasy, an online testing service to help prepare students for Step 1 and Step 2 USMLE exams.

AccessScience (McGraw-Hill): Science reference materials with access to all the articles, fully illustrated, from the latest edition of the McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science & Technology, Research Updates from the McGraw-Hill Yearbooks, thousands of illustrations, and the latest Science News headlines, biographies, and more. Containing full text for nearly 4,000 scholarly publications, including more than 3,100 peer-reviewed publications.

AccessSurgery (McGraw-Hill): Is an integrated online resource that provides medical students, surgical residents, and practicing surgeons with quick answers to surgical inquiries from trusted sources. Organized around the ACGME's (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) mandate for a Core Curriculum, AccessSurgery delivers content in context.

An-Nahar Archives Online: Provides access to the bibliographic citations database of An-Nahar Newspaper (1985 - Present) to be able to order articles on Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs: political, economic, military, sports, social, educational, medical, …

1. Choose 1st box to the left of PAID service.

2. Open an individual account by subscribing (for free). Click on “new subscriber” and fill in the required information.

3. Username and password sent to UOB Webmail.

4. Carry out your search and locate the required article.

5. Order the article through the Document Delivery Services (ILL-DDS) in the Atef Danial Library.

Art Full-Text (H.W.Wilson) or Art Full-Text (EBSCO): Is a bibliographic database providing full text for an international array of peer-selected publications (since 1997), covering the visual arts and related subjects. Periodical coverage includes English-language periodicals, yearbooks, and museum bulletins, as well as periodicals published in French, Italian, German, Japanese, Spanish, Dutch, and Swedish. In addition to articles, Art Full Text indexes reproductions of works of art that appear in indexed periodicals.

ATLA (The American Theological Library Association) Religion Database (EBSCO): Provides information on topics such as biblical studies, world religions, church history, and religion in social issues. Coverage areas include: Bible, archaeology, and antiquities; human culture and society; church history, missions, and ecumenism; pastoral ministry; world religions and religious studies; and theology, philosophy, and ethics. Languages covered: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and other. The records include: journal article records, essay records from multi-author works, and book reviews.

BMJ Learning: An interactive website designed for general practitioners, hospital doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals to support their personal development, learning and CME (Continuing Medical Education) needs.

You must register on the site individually to access the modules so that you can save your work and track your progress with learning modules online.

BMJ Publishing Group Journals: A broad range of medical specialties and more than 20 titles

Business Source Complete (EBSCO): Provides full text for nearly 3,300 scholarly business journals, including full text for more than 1000 peer-reviewed business publications. Coverage includes virtually all subject areas related to business. This database provides full text (PDF) for more than 300 of the top scholarly journals dating as far back as 1922.

Business Search Interface - Business Source Complete (EBSCO): Provides direct links to company/industry profiles, market research reports, country reports, SWOT analyses, business videos, and more through the Browse links on the right side of the page, plus links to the information found in Business Source Complete.

Choice Reviews Online (the internet version of the monthly print magazine, Choice: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries). Directed toward academic librarians and faculty as a resource for collection development and scholarly research. It covers more than 50 sub-disciplines spanning the humanities, science and technology, and the social and behavioral sciences from 1988 to present.

CIAO: Columbia International Affairs Online (Columbia University): A comprehensive source for theory and research in international affairs.

CINAHL with Full-Text: Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature (EBSCO): A comprehensive source of full text for nursing & allied health journals, providing full text for more than 580 journals indexed in CINAHL with full-text coverage dating back to 1981.

Dissertation Abstracts Database (PROQUEST): Bibliographic information for doctoral dissertations and master's theses of authors from over 1,000 U.S. graduate schools and universities since 1861.

You can order dissertations directly online with your credit card.

dgMarket: Is an electronic marketplace for government procurement information such as tender notices, contract awards, and bidding documents. ebrary (ebrary): A growing collection of more that 60,000 full-text digital books and authoritative content (multidisciplinary) from over 200 leading academic publishers. Full text content can be viewed, searched and printed (5 pages at each command).

Expanded Academic ASAP (GALE GROUP): Multi-disciplinary database.

ERIC (EBSCO) Provides a database of journal and non-journal education literature for K-12 teachers, school administrators, education faculty, school psychologists and education students. This database contains more than 1.3 million citations and more than 323,000 full-text documents going back to 1966. More than 110,000 full-text non-journal documents (from years 1993-present) are included in the database.

GreenFILE (EBSCO) A research database of scholarly general interest titles, as well as government document reports, focusing on the relationship between human beings and the environment, with well-researched but accessible information on topics ranging from global warming to recycling to alternate fuel sources and beyond; offering a perspective on the positive and negative ways humans affect the ecology.

Global Issues in Context (GALE GROUP) A resource that offers international viewpoints on a broad spectrum of global issues, topics, and current events. Each of these gateway pages includes an overview, unique "perspectives" articles written by local experts, reference, periodical, primary source, statistical information and multimedia material, including podcasts, video, and interactive graphs.

Health and Wellness Resource Center (GALE GROUP): An integrated electronic database with instant access to authoritative health information, including full-text medical encyclopedias, health and medical journals, thousands of pamphlets, streaming videos, and health articles from more than 3,000 general interest publications covering health care, diet, and fitness topics.

IEL: IEEE/IEE Electronic Library (Available on Main Campus only): Archives of publications (journals, conference proceedings, and IEEE/IEE Standards) from 1988

Infotrac Custom Newspapers (GALE GROUP): More than 100 major newspapers of U.S. and European coverage. Four different titles will be made available on a bi-weekly basis.

IngentaConnect: Bibliographic records to online journals from leading scholarly, academic and business publishers and full-text access to journals subscribed to by the UOB Libraries.

International Financial Statistics (IFS) (IMF): Serves as a standard source of international statistics on all aspects of international and domestic finance: current information for the analysis of international financial data, including inflation, exchange rates, international liquidity, international banking, money and banking, interest rates, prices, production, international transactions, government accounts, and more. Approximately 32,000 time series covering more than 200 countries starting in 1948.

International Monetary Fund (IMF) Publications: IMF publications: financial, economic and country reports, surveys, even new publications, such as the World Economic Outlook .

Journal Citation Reports: Allows the evaluation and comparison of journals in the areas of science, technology, and social sciences, showing the most frequently cited journals and the highest impact journals in a field. Available in Science Edition 2008 & 2009 and Social Sciences Edition 2008 & 2009.

JSTOR: (short for Journal Storage) is a journal archive which holds the complete digitized back runs of core scholarly journals, starting with the very first issues, some dating as far back as the 1600s. New titles and disciplines are being added regularly. Because of JSTOR's archival mission, there is a gap, the so-called "moving wall" between the most recently published journal issue and the back issues available in JSTOR.

Literature Resource Center (LRC) (GALE GROUP): Biographies, bibliographies, and critical analyses of authors from every age and literary discipline, also available the Scribner Writer's Series, Twayne World, US, and English.

MDConsult (ELSEVIER): Medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more.

Medline: 1948 till present (OVID): Bibliographic citations and author abstracts from more than 4,600 medical and biomedical journals published in the United States and 70 other countries.

Modern Language Association (MLA) International Bibliography (GALE GROUP): Bibliographic records pertaining to literature, language, linguistics, and folklore, and includes coverage from 1926 to the present; it also covers relevant monographs, working papers, proceedings, bibliographies, and other formats.

MultiData Online (MSI): Three databases: General News / Book Reviews / Table of Contents of specialized Arabic periodicals.

Nature Magazine (NPG): A weekly international journal publishing peer-reviewed research in all fields of science and technology.  Articles are available from 1997-2007. 

New England Journal of Medicine: A weekly general medical journal that publishes new medical research findings, review articles and editorial opinion on a wide variety of topics of importance to biomedical science and clinical practice.

OVID Journals (OVID): Search and/or Browse all 2793 journals available through OVID.

PsycARTICLES (APA): A full-text database of journals published by APA and other publishers in subject areas such as applied psychology, health, theory, research, social/personality, and more.

Sage Premier (SAGE): Provides access to more than 500 high-quality scholarly full text journals from the first issue of 1999 onward. Coverage is strong in the fields of communication studies, criminology, education, health sciences, management & organization studies, materials science, political science, psychology, sociology, and urban studies.

SciVerse: ScienceDirect (ELSEVIER): Provides full text access to Elsevier ScienceDirect "Freedom Collection," approximately 2240 Elsevier titles from 2008-present. Does not include some health sciences, society presses, or Cell Press titles.

Science Magazine Online: Access to an archive (1997 to present) of recent articles from one of the best known a peer-reviewed journals for scientific news, commentary and cutting-edge research of scientific research.

Scientific & Medical ART Imagebase: Is a comprehensive collection (20,000+) of downloadable medical illustrations and animations. Contains medical illustrations, animations, and interactive multimedia for 24 body systems/regions and 20 medical specialties. Contains also non-English content with illustrations translated into additional languages (in total, 13 non-English languages).

Shamaa: Is a bibliographic citations database covering publications dealing with the subject of education in the Arab States. It contains records of books, articles, theses and dissertations in Arabic, French and English starting from 2007; some records have abstracts as well.

SpringerLink (SPRINGER): More than 1200 peer-reviewed full text STM (Science, Technology, Medicine) journals from Springer-Verlag publishers. Subjects covered include Architecture and Design, Behavioral Science, Biomedical and Life Sciences, Business and Economics, Chemistry and Materials Science, Engineering, Humanities, Social Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Medicine, Physics and Astronomy... The green boxes indicates that the full text of the article can be viewed online.
