The Nursing Program at the Faculty of Health Sciences, organized a gathering in the presence of the Dr. Huda Huijer, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr. Souheil Matar, nursing faculty members, and the nursing students of the Souk El Ghareb Campus (SEG).

The Nursing Program planned to revive its academic and co-curricular life, through this gathering, after two difficult years of semi-isolation, intensified by lockdowns and multiple crises. The faculty members were present to listen to the concerns of nursing students.

Dr. Abdallah, Director of the Nursing Program, highlighted the strategic role of the SEG Campus to the university and particularly to the Nursing Program and the need for young professionals to work in the Jabal and Chouf areas. In addition, Dr. Abdallah presented the faculty members at the three campuses and gave an overview of the Program competencies and outcomes as well as the partnerships with the different experiential sites. Finally, she announced that the Program is in the process of applying to the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Dr. Huijer, emphasized the importance of accreditation to the Nursing Program and the involvement of all students and faculty in the process. She also listened to the students’ concerns and needs and encouraged them to revive their extracurricular activities.

The event took place on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 12:30-2:00 pm in the auditorium, SEG campus, and concluded with a reception. ​
