The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Balamand (UOB), Lebanon, invites applicants for THE DIRECTOR OF NURSING PROGRAM position at the professorial level effective Fall 2022.

The University of Balamand is dedicated to graduating professionals who are well-rounded, critical thinkers, life-long learners, and active citizens in their respective societies. The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Health Sciences, including Public Health, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nursing, and Nutritional Sciences, with pre-medical tracks to medical school. Programs are offered on three campuses: Beirut, Koura, and Souk El Gharb. The language of instruction is English.

The Faculty encourages multidisciplinary teamwork, research, collaboration with different academic institutions and university teaching hospitals. In addition to a vibrant undergraduate program, the Nursing program has recently launched the Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis on advanced clinical practice with two tracks; 1) Adult Care and 2) Neonatal and Child Care. The nursing program is benchmarked against leading programs in the USA and Europe, is seeking US accreditation, and is tailored to the health and cultural needs of Lebanon and the Middle East. An academic position is currently open at the professorial level for the Director of the Nursing Program.

The director is the responsible academic head of the program, reports to the dean of FHS, and is a member of the Faculty Council leadership team. The candidate is an accomplished academic leader with administrative experience, qualified for appointment at the rank of associate or full professor, has a distinguished record of scholarship, and a commitment to education, research, and community service. The successful candidate is expected to lead innovations at the program level, to teach in the graduate program, to engage in interdisciplinary research, and undertake community-based activities. PhD-holder faculty with leadership capabilities and expertise in program development are welcome to apply. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
