UOB and USAID-LINQ Sign Contract Agreement  to establish a plant nursery to benefit farmers in Akkar area

The President of the University of Balamand Dr. Elias Warrak signed a contract agreement for a project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), LINQ (Lebanon Investment in Quality), represented by Mrs. Celine Melky.
The Department of Agriculture at the Issam Fares Faculty of Technology at the University of Balamand (UOB) in Beino, will partner with the USAID-LINQ project to establish a plant nursery to benefit farmers in the Akkar area.
The co-investment partnership will enable the University to launch the new nursery through the upgrade and improved equipment installation in the previously mounted greenhouse to plant a total of 620,000 high quality disease-resistant vegetable seedlings per year.
The contract is worth $63,438 and its implementation will be completed by the end of December 2021.
