Francisco Salvador Yared awarded at the Byzanfest 2021

The University of Balamand would like to congratulate Francisco Salvador Yared, a foreign student from Chile, for receiving two awards at Byzanfest 2021; the world's only web film festival dedicated to Orthodox Christian short films.

Francisco is pursuing his bachelor’s degree in theology at the St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology. His documentary was awarded in two categories” Best Short Documentary” and “Best Youth Short Film.

A thrilling testimony: Emilo’s Story, the film revolves around the life of a blind man who despite all challenges devotes his life to helping the church and those in need. ​


تودّ جامعة البلمند أن تهنّئ فرانسيسكو  سلفادور  ياراد، الطالب القادم من تشيلي، لفوزه بجائزتين في مهرجان بيزانفيست 2021 للأفلام، وهو المهرجان الدوليّ الوحيد للسينما المسيحية الأرثوذكسية للأفلام القصيرة.

 يتابع فرانسيسكو دراسته في اختصاص بكالوريوس في اللاهوت في معهد القدّيس يوحنا الدمشقي اللاهوتي. وقد حاز فيلمه الوثائقيّ على جائزتين عن فئة: "أفضل فيلم وثائقي قصير" و "أفضل فيلم قصير للشباب".

 

قدم فرانسيسكو فيلمًا وثائقيًا رائعًا بعنوان "شهادة: قصة إميليو" عن شخص أعمى مسؤول عن استقبال الناس في الكنيسة وبالرغم من أنه أعمى، فهذا لا يمنعه من عيش حياته ومساعدة الكنيسة التي يحبها كثيرًا.​
