Dr. Paolo Yammine, Chairman of the Chemistry Department at the University of Balamand, was received by the Chemistry Department at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, one of the most Prestigious Universities in Greece, for a 5-day visit from the 9th until the 13th of May 2022 within the scope of ERASMUS+ exchange program.

During his visit, a series of seminars were given by Dr. Yammine to students as well as faculty members in the Chemistry Department:

Seminar 1: Polymers used as Biomaterials: Drug delivery systems based on micro-spherical polymers

Seminar 2: Nanotechnology for the delivery of anticancer drugs: Drug delivery systems based on nano-spherical polymers

Seminar 3: Polymers used in the Glass Industry: Study of electrochromic properties of interpenetrated networks containing a conducting polymer to use in the glass industry

Seminar 4: Drug Delivery Systems based on biodegradable polymers: synthesis and characterization of polymers to induce intra-ocular implants

Seminars 5 and 6: Atmospheric and Groundwater Pollution in North Lebanon
5- Chemical composition of particles in the atmosphere in the region of Chekka -North Lebanon
6- Assessment of Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene in groundwater of Tripoli

Dr. Yammine had meetings with professors from different Chemistry Laboratories with the objective of establishing promising future collaborations between the University of Balamand and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. ​
