The Organizing Committee of the 2nd International Conference on Earth Science & Geo Science invited Professor Mervat El-Hoz to participate as a keynote speaker for its conference on "Innovations in Earth System Science and the Challenges of Climate Change'' which took place on 12-13 August 2019 in Prague, Czech Republic. Professor El-Hoz participated in a lecture entitled: Recycling and Circular Economy: An opportunity to Improve Municipal Solid Waste Management Sector. At the end of the conference, the Scientific Federation and the Organizing Committee awarded her a Certificate of Recognition for her phenomenal and worthy keynote presentation.

In her presentation, Prof. El Hoz presented all factors that affect the sustainable municipal solid waste management, and how municipalities should move to the smart waste treatment, which includes recycling and the circular economy approaches to their waste plans and policies.
