The Office of Student Affairs at the University of Balamand organized a discussion session on Wednesday 6/11/2019. The first speaker, political researcher Dr. Elia Elia touched on the Lebanese system, detailing several constitutional gaps. He stressed on achieving social justice as a prelude to national reform. Elia also spoke about the importance of parliamentary elections as a democratic means of power transfer. Dr. Jihad Hokayem, Chief Financial Strategist, detailed the reasons that led to the deterioration of the economic situation in Lebanon listing means of rectification of the current situation. All participants emphasized the role of university youth at the national level through their active participation in political life. The event was concluded with Q&A session with participants moderated by Dean of Admissions, Registration and Student Affairs, Dr. Walid Moubayed.
