“State of the Environmental Legislation Development and Application System in Lebanon” A launching ceremony for the “State of the Environmental Legislation Development and Application System in Lebanon” (SELDAS) book took place on June 23, 2005 at the Green Conference Room of the Ministry of Environment. Speakers: Ms. Maria Alves (EC Delegation Lebanon) Dr. Nadim Karam (Vice President of the University of Balamand) Dr. Khaled Kabbani (Minister of Justice) Dr. Tarek Mitri (Minister of Environment) Ms. Manal Moussallem (SELDAS Project Manager) Master of Ceremony: Ms. Carla Hanna (SELDAS Project Officer-Legal Matters) Attendees: Various public officials and representatives from different ministries and public agencies attended the ceremony, as well as several judges from the Ministry of Justice and Council of State in addition to representatives from different private law firms, environmental consultancy firms, academia, international organizations, NGOs, and media. |
