| SELDAS
launching ceremony was held on June 6th, 2003 at Phoenicia Intercontinental,
under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Fares Bouez, Minister of Environment. H.E.
Mr. Akram Shehayeb, chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Environment,
H.E. Mr. Patrick Renauld, head of the Delegation of the European Commission
in Lebanon, Mrs. Francine Cousteau, president of Cousteau Society, and Dr.
Elie Salem, president of the University of Balamand, co-chaired the event,
which was attended by
stakeholders from the public and the private sectors.
