- NEWS - Catholic University of Argentine Rector Lectures at Balamand Thursday, May 26, 2005

In the context of his visit to the University of Balamand, Ingeniero Jorge Luis Feijóo, Rector of the   Catholic University of Santiago, Argentine, visited the St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the relations already existing between the respective universities. Dr. Daniel Ayuch, Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies, had visited the Catholic University and lectured the summer of 2004 (See News Release).

The Rector first visited the Monastery of Balamand. Then he was welcomed by the faculty, students and staff of the Institute of Theology. He gave a lecture on the role of the Catholic University in Argentine in solving political conflicts and in giving the Christian solutions to modern-day problems. As a token of thankfulness and appreciation for his visit, the Institute of Theology presented the Rector with the publications of the Institute.

رئيس الجامعة الكاثوليكية في الأرجنتين

يلقي محاضرة في معهد اللاهوت -البلمند

 في إطار زيارته لجامعة البلمند، ومن أجل توطيد العلاقات بين معهد القديس يوحنا الدمشقي اللاهوتي والجامعة الكاثوليكية في سانتياغو – الارجنتين، زار رئيسها الدكتور خورخي لويس فايخو المعهد اللاهوتي في جامعة البلمند، وقام باستقباله الهيئة الأكاديمية والطلاب. ثم ألقى الدكتور فايخو محاضرة تكلم فيها عن تاريخ جامعته، وأظهر فيها دور الجامعات الكاثوليكية في الأرجنتين بشكل عام، وجامعته بشكل خاص في نشر مبدأ الحوار لحل النزاعات السياسية وطرح الجواب المسيحي على التساؤلات الحديثة. وفي نهاية الحديث قدّم له المعهد نسخة عن منشوراته، شاكراً له زيارته. كما أكّد  له أهمية التواصل مع الجامعة الكاثوليكية عبر تبادل الخبرات والأساتذة والطلاب.

كما، وأقامت جامعة البلمند حفل استقبال تكريمي لرئيس جامعة سانتياغو حضره العمداء والأساتذة، وحشد من الجالية الأسبانية في لبنان.
