Subject-specific library instructions and trainings addressing the needs of a specific
assignment or course of study can be provided. These sessions may include:
- Subject-specific databases (ERIC, JSTOR, etc.)
- Specialized reference sources (Britannica, Oxford Online, etc.)
- Referencing tools (RefWorks)
- Citation styles and tools (APA, MLA, RefWorks)
- Library orientation for classes and visitors
- Training sessions for library science students (practicum)
- General library orientation
- One-on-one research assistance
Orientation:
The library also provides general orientation sessions for outside visitors
and UOB faculty and students to introduce them to the libraries’ facilities and
collections.
Training:
Library science students from the Faculty of Library and Information Studies
or from other universities in Lebanon and the region can also request a practicum
in the university libraries as a formal training in the field of librarianship.
