Safe Health Design



Target Audience: This course is intended for senior level executives, CEO, Architects, Investors in healthcare field nurse managers and executives, facility directors.

This course will review the process of healthcare facility design from the initial feasibility study to post occupancy evaluation.

Participants at the end of this session should be able to:

  • • Understand relationship of design plan to strategic plan for organization
  • • Organize a multidisciplinary planning team and process for facility design
  • • Develop design goals, objectives and guiding principles
  • • Identify design elements to meet overall objectives
  • • Construct a Risk/Vulnerability Analysis
  • • Create a Facility Outcome Plan





Course content will include:

  • • JCI Standards and Impact on Design
  • • Relate JCI Standards to design elements and guiding principles
  • • Understand how design can support a high reliability organization
  • • Seven flows for healthcare design
  • • Commissioning: Building, Equipment, Clinical
  • • Understand Commissioning Requirements
  • • Review and understand Equipment commissioning process and documents
  • • Prepare a clinical commissioning plan




 





45 HOURS PER COURSE


30 hrs face time with JCI Faculty,
12 hrs self-paced learning,
3 hrs final exam
