Advisory Board

During 2021-2022 we adopted the strategy of strengthening the ties of our relations abroad and give it a great push through the launch of a Dean’s International Advisory Board that consists of prominent Medical Doctors practicing in the USA.

The Dean's International Advisory Board, is made up of a group of erudite and accomplished individuals who have pledged their support to the Faculty of Medicine (FOM) in their unwavering mission to achieve the pinnacle of excellence in education, research, and service in the field of medicine. Their duty is to counsel and guide the dean on an array of issues, ranging from shaping the FOM's mission and vision, prioritizing its goals, to advocating and providing external perspectives for FOM programs.

Members of the board include: Dr. Antoine Abchee, Dr. Fadi AbdukKarim, Dr. Issam Awad, Dr. Chakib Ayoub, Dr. Rani S. Geriege, Dr. George Kikano, Dr. Elias Melhem, Dr. Khalil Saliba, Dr. Rana Skaff, and Dr. Ramzi Younis.

The board manifests an unwavering commitment to promote inter-school faculty collaborations, sharing their expertise, resources, and knowledge, all while communicating the school's overarching mission to a more expansive audience. Furthermore, they work to secure generous support for the FOM, advise faculty members on strategic issues, and serve as the students', faculty's, staff's, and administration's tireless advocates and advisors.

The board's functions also encompass aiding in the clinical education program's development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Their insights enable them to identify issues and needs related to the program, fostering and stimulating research relationships, and generating research funds. The board's quarterly or as-needed meetings are a testament to their unwavering dedication to their mission. Committee members' tenure spans two years, with the opportunity for reappointment.
