Mission
The Ophthalmology Residency Program is committed to providing the essential cognitive and technical skills needed for the development of modern comprehensive ophthalmologists.

Objectives
The objectives of the Ophthalmology Residency Program are:
  • - The acquisition of knowledge and technical skills relevant to ophthalmology.
  • - The exposure to basic and medical ophthalmology research.
Program Learning Outcomes
By the end of their training, residents are expected to:
  1. Discuss the anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to the visual system.
  2. Identify the pathogenic mechanisms related to the presentation of the clinical problems.
  3. Plan, apply, and interpret clinical, laboratory, and imaging information.
  4. Develop a diagnosis and care plan for common eye problems.
  5. Develop a differential diagnosis.
  6. Implement a reasonable and appropriate therapeutic medical and/or surgical plan.
  7. Recognize and anticipate complications and how to treat them.
  8. Recognize the role of research in clinical professional development.
  9. Practice continuous self-learning.
