The Institute of Environment to implement a reforestation project in Tannourine

The University of Balamand has recently signed a contract agreement with the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) to implement a reforestation project in Tannourine, over a total area of 50 ha. The contract is worth 334,547 euro fully funded by the Agence Française de Developpement (AFD) within the PARSIFAL programme.

The general objective of this project is to fight against deforestation and address local development by carrying out reforestation activities in accordance with the 40 million trees program of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The Land and Natural Resources Program at the Institute of the Environment partnered with the Municipality of Tannourine and the Association for Forests, Development and Conservation (AFDC) to implement the different activities of the project over a period of 40 months.
