UOB Represents Lebanon in the “12th UNESCO Youth Forum”

UOB Medical Student and President of the UOB Club for UNESCO, Farouk Kabbara, participated in the “12th UNESCO Youth Forum”. The conference originally planned to be in Paris was held online. Farouk was the only student representative from Lebanon and one of two from the Middle East. The conference took place in November 2021.

The Forum focused on discussing ways in which Youth can implement solutions, moving forward to the post-COVID era. Evidentially, their main focus was the vulnerable and marginalized groups. Such recommended solutions were inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals that set-out for a better future for all.

Commenting on the occasion, UOB Club for UNESCO advisor Mrs. Diala Farah highlighted the key projects the club has been actively engaged in which lead to the selection of Farouk for the part of the forum. Additionally, she assured that, going forward, all club activities will be planned in-line with the forum recommendations.

In turn, Director of Student Affairs Mr. Michael Salem congratulated Farouk and the UOB Club for UNESCO on this achievement. He also underlined the commitment of the Office of Student Affairs to support all clubs and student initiatives aimed at contributing to positive change and raising awareness on hot topics like sustainability.
