The Issam M. Fares Faculty of Technology (IFFT) welcomed The American Task Force for Lebanon (ATFL), headed by President and CEO Edward Gabriel, at the campus in Akkar.
A discussion was held in the presence of Dr. Elias Warrak, President of the University of Balamand; Dr. Elie Karam, Dean of the IFFT; Dr. Youssef Bassim, Chief Operating Officer and Assistant to the President for Health Affairs; as well as faculty, staff and students.
During his intervention, Edward Gabriel, discussed the current Lebanese situation addressing the crisis and challenges the country is facing and how the youth are affected as a result.
In turn, Dr. Warrak added: “The purpose of today’s visit by the ATFL is to explore the various achievements we have realized in Akkar, and more importantly to connect with students. The University of Balamand is committed to launching additional majors that will be based on the specific needs of Akkar, such as nursing and smart agriculture.”
In closing, Dr. Karam stated: “The ultimate goal is to provide equal education opportunities, without any discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, nationality or physical handicap.”
