UOB Signs MOU with Rosary Sisters Hospital

On May 11, 2023, the University of Balamand signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Rosary Sisters Hospital. The signing took place in the presence of several notable figures including His Excellency César Essayan, the Apostolic Vicar of Beirut of Latins, Archimandrite Georges Yaacoub, the Oikonomos of the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of our Lady of Balamand, Sister Maureen Basil, the regional president of the Rosary Sisters, Dr. Youssef Bakhache, the head of the Lebanese Order of Physicians in Beirut, Dr. Elias Warrak, the president of the University of Balamand, Dr. Sami Azar, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Balamand, Sister Nicolas Akiki, the director of the hospital, Pierre Mourad, the medical director, and Mr. Michel Shaheen, the representative of the Hospitals Syndicate. Additionally, a delegation consisting of deans from the faculties of the University of Balamand, doctors, nurses, and hospital staff were present.

By bridging the gap between academic theory and clinical practice, this MoU aims to produce well-prepared graduates who are capable of meeting the demands of the healthcare industry. Both institutions share a vision of aiding those who choose not to surrender to despair and resist migration, regardless of religious or sectarian differences. The partnership also emphasizes the importance of technological advancements and modern medical equipment available at the Rosary Sisters Hospital, ensuring high-quality healthcare services and medical training. Together, The University of Balamand and the Rosary Sisters Hospital will strive to enhance applied education, medical research, and healthcare quality in Lebanon, while providing compassionate and excellent care to patients.
