Dr. Yasmine Jabali: Member of the Wavemakers United Foundation’s Advisory Board

Dr. Yasmine Jabali, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Balamand, has been elected to serve on the Wavemakers United Foundation's advisory board as one of five advisory board members and the only one from Lebanon and the MENA region. The elected distinguished board of international specialists consists so far of:

Jaime de Bourbon de Parme, Climate Envoy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
Marcel Beukeboom, Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Rome
Pallas Agterberg, Challenge Officer Alliander
Isabela Espindola, Membership Engagement Senior Officer IWA (Latin America)
Carolina Tornesi Mac Kinnon President World Youth Parliament for Water (USA)
Noémie Plumier, Jurist HR International Environmental Law (Europe)
Yasmine Jabali, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, University of Balamand

Wavemakers United is a community of students, young professionals, and athletes with a passion for water and its engineering preservation. It aims to connect and activate global youth networks for the sustainable development of water, food, and energy. Its mission is to contribute to the UN SDGs and involve as many youngsters as possible mainly targeting SDGs 1, 2, 3, 6, 11, 12 and 14.

Commenting on her new appointment, Dr. Jabali stated: “I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity to contribute to an organization that is driving positive change in the water sector. Being a part of the board, this will provide me with valuable insights and experience that I can apply to my future career. I believe this appointment is a testament to all the hard work that has been done at the University of Balamand to promote awareness on water-related topics. I am grateful to have been selected for this role, and I look forward to collaborating with the other advisory board members, to shape impactful programs that address pressing challenges in the water sector”.

Vice President for Internationalization and Engagement and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Rami Abboud congratulated Dr. Jabali for her new position as member of the advisory board of Wavemakers United Foundation, which supported our 1MAP initiative, and admired her significant contributions in the fields of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He believes that Dr. Jabali’s expertise, insights and hunger for scholarly and research related water activities will greatly contribute to the success of Wavemakers United initiatives. Prof. Abboud further highlighted Dr. Jabali’s commitment to sustainability and her efforts giving our engineering students the chance to be agents of change, all with a mindset of positive energy to make a difference.
