The University of Balamand (UOB) commends the dedication and remarkable achievements of its graduate, John Jabbour. John has garnered significant recognition for his outstanding career in FUTSAL, making a name for himself at both the national and international levels.

John embarked on his Futsal journey during his time at UOB, where he graduated in 2018 with a BS degree in Accounting and Management. Under the mentorship of Coach Jad Yammine, John received exceptional guidance and unwavering support to pave his path in the soccer world. He showcased his skills as a member of the UOB Futsal Team, engaging in fierce competitions against various universities. John's remarkable performance led him to secure the title of Top Scorer in the Universities League, alongside his participation in both local and international tournaments with the UOB team.

During his Futsal career, John progressively advanced through various divisions within the Lebanese League, ultimately earning a spot on the Lebanon National Futsal Team in 2019. Recognized for his significant impact in every game he participates in, John consistently stands out as a crucial player, earning him a consistent selection for key matches.

In 2023, John played with Jounieh Futsal team and ended the season as a top scorer for the Lebanese Futsal Division 1 League by scoring 32 goals. Furthermore, John has been chosen to proudly represent Lebanon in the upcoming Arab Futsal Championship taking place in Saudi Arabia in June 2023.

Reflecting on his journey, John expressed deep appreciation for the pivotal role played by UOB in honing his Futsal skills and career as a player. He remarked, "I take immense pride in being a member of the UOB Futsal team for four years. I am grateful to the UOB Athletics Department for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout my time at UOB."

Professor Rami Abboud, Vice President for Internationalization & Engagement and Dean of Faculty of Engineering, praised John’s exceptional athletic achievements. He remarked: “We are extremely proud of John’s notable success, which reflects his great dedication and commitment to the sport and the university. UOB remains committed to providing outstanding students like John with the academic and athletic support they need to fulfil their dreams and harness their talents."
