TEPDAD Grants Full Accreditation Status to the MD Program

The University of Balamand is pleased to announce that the MD Program at the Faculty of Medicine and Medical Sciences has been granted full accreditation until August 31st, 2027 by TEPDAD, the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Educational Programs. This accreditation status reflects the unwavering dedication of the Faculty of Medicine and Medical Sciences to delivering exceptional medical education and clinical training to its students. Furthermore, this achievement underscores the faculty's adherence to the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) global standards for undergraduate medical education.

The full accreditation status now enables University of Balamand MD graduates to meet the 2024 certification requirements of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and avail themselves of the full rights and privileges of training in the United States as foreign medical graduates.

Dr. Elias Warrak, President of the University of Balamand, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to each and every one the faculty and staff who have dedicated their time and expertise to designing and implementing a curriculum that fosters innovation, and critical thinking. Dr Warrak believes that “the WFME-TEPDAD accreditation serves as a resounding endorsement of the quality of education, research, and clinical training that the Faculty of Medicine offers. It acknowledges our adherence to the highest international standards and recognizes our institution's commitment to producing well-rounded and competent medical professionals who will shape the future of healthcare in our region and beyond.” Dr Warrak addressed also the students who represent “the heart and soul of our institution” by inviting them “to embrace this accreditation as a testament to their hard work and use it as a source of inspiration to continue striving for greatness in their academic pursuits and future careers.”

On behalf of TEPDAD executive Council, TEPDAD President Dr. Iskender Sayek congratulated the University of Balamand’s Faculty of Medicine and Medical Sciences on its full accreditation status and continuous commitment to provide quality medical education for the service of the Lebanese Health Sector. ​
