The University of Balamand (UOB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Municipality of Dekwaneh on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at UOB Koura Campus. The MOU was signed by UOB President Dr. Elias Warrak, and the President of the Municipality of Dekwaneh Professor Antoine Shakhtoura, and it was attended by the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Alumni Relations, Dr. Salim Kanaan, the Deputy Mayor, Professor George Sader, and the Lawyer Nadim Abboud.

This protocol represents the shared vision between UOB, which seeks through its academic and scientific programs to prepare its graduates in various fields and specialties to be active citizens in their society, and the municipality of Dekwaneh, which aims to provide educational services to the residents of Dekwaneh registered in UOB, by offering educational grants on their tuition fees according to the terms of this protocol.

This MOU serves as a distinguished step and integration between the private and public sectors with the aim of developing human potential in the region and promoting it.
