UOB Students and Alumni Shine in Regional Volleyball Championship

The University of Balamand congratulates its graduates and students who played a key role in the achievement of the Lebanese Women’s National Volleyball Team, which retained the West Asia Championship title and qualified for the 2026 Asian Championship to be held next June in the Philippines.

The national team, which won all five of its matches in the Second West Asia Championship held in Amman, Jordan, achieved this remarkable result with an undefeated record, marking another milestone for Lebanese volleyball on the international stage.

Leading the team to this exceptional success was Captain Mira Adra, a University of Balamand alumna and former women’s varsity volleyball player, whose leadership and competitive spirit were instrumental in the team’s performance throughout the tournament.

The team also featured several other members of the UOB community:

  • • Lina Jrad, current UOB student and women’s varsity volleyball player
  • • Hanane Lababidi, UOB alumni and former women’s varsity volleyball player
  • • Lea Chebib, UOB alumni and former women’s varsity volleyball player

Both Hanane Lababidi and Lea Chebib previously led the UOB Women’s Volleyball Team to an impressive second-place finish in the University Sports Championship during the 2023–2024 academic year.

This remarkable accomplishment stands as a source of pride for the University of Balamand, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing talented student-athletes and leaders who continue to excel nationally and internationally, representing the UOB spirit of excellence, teamwork, and perseverance wherever they compete.
