University of Balamand Students Take Part in “He for She” Roundtable

Five students from the University of Balamand, in coordination with the Career Services Center, participated in the Women with Goals roundtable titled “He for She” organized by the Debbane Saikali Group. The event highlighted the role of women in leadership and in the labor market.

A unique feature of the roundtable was that all panelists were men. They shared their experiences working with women in leadership positions and discussed the importance of supporting gender equality in the workplace.

The event also included a mentorship competition, where each panelist selected one female participant to mentor based on her response to a question. As a result, University of Balamand students Mariam Chami and Mabelle Wehbe were selected to receive mentorship from Mr. Hadi Assaad, Secretary General of the Institute for Finance and Governance.

Reflecting on her experience, Mariam Chami said the event was “engaging and informative” noting that the welcoming and professional environment encouraged discussion and made the experience both enjoyable and beneficial.

Mabelle Wehbe described the roundtable as “a valuable opportunity to connect with motivated young women from across Lebanon,” adding that the panelists were supportive and generous in sharing their experience and guidance.
