Dr. Hanna Al Nakat, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Balamand (UOB), received Dr. Tony Kahwaji, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies at Saint Joseph University of Beirut, accompanied by a delegation from the University of Bucharest, Romania.

The meeting highlighted the importance of academic cooperation between UOB and the Institute of Oriental Studies at Saint Joseph University, as well as the possibility of cooperation with the University of Bucharest.

The delegation included Professor Viorel Vizureanu, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Dr. Lilian Sciacchitano, Coordinator of the UNESCO Center for Cultural Pluralism, Good Governance, and Sustainable Development at the University of Bucharest, and Dr. Dorine Nasr, instructor of Arabic Language at UOB and Saint Joseph University of Beirut.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Monastery of Our Lady of Balamand, where they were welcomed by Archimandrite George Yaacoub, followed by an explanation of the monastery’s historical landmarks given by Archimandrite Alexi Abboud.
