UOB Signs Agreement to Preserve and Promote the Archival Collection of Mgr. Camille Moubarak

The University of Balamand (UOB), through the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA), has signed a landmark agreement with Mgr. Camille Moubarak for the preservation, documentation, and promotion of a distinguished archival collection of exceptional cultural, historical, religious, and academic value.

The agreement was signed at UOB’s Dekwaneh Campus by UOB President, Prof. Elias Warrak, and Mgr. Camille Moubarak, who entrusted ALBA-UOB with an extensive collection comprising books, manuscripts, photographs, video and audio recordings, press archives, medals, trophies, diplomas, and numerous documents and artifacts reflecting a rich legacy in culture, history, socio-political affairs, the social sciences of the Church, Maronite theology, poetry, academic scholarship, and religious heritage.

Under the terms of the agreement, the collection will be progressively transferred to UOB, where it will be preserved according to internationally recognized archival standards and made accessible for academic, scientific, and cultural purposes. The collection will remain intact as a distinct archival entity bearing the name of Mgr. Camille Moubarak, thereby safeguarding its integrity, coherence, and historical significance for future generations.

This agreement further strengthens ALBA’s role as a leading center for cultural preservation and knowledge production, while underscoring the University of Balamand’s commitment to safeguarding Lebanon’s intellectual and cultural heritage, advancing scholarly research, and fostering meaningful partnerships that enrich the nation’s collective memory and historical legacy.
