The Faculty of Business and Management (FOBM) at the University of Balamand (UOB) held a ceremony to mark the official installation of its Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Chapter and the induction of its first cohort of student members.

The installation officially welcomed UOB into the global Beta Gamma Sigma community. Founded in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma is the premier international business honor society serving business schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

The establishment of the chapter follows FOBM’s successful attainment of AACSB accreditation, placing the Faculty among a select group of business schools worldwide recognized for meeting rigorous standards in business education. This achievement made the Faculty eligible to establish a Beta Gamma Sigma chapter and join a global network dedicated to academic excellence, ethical leadership, and lifelong learning.

A highlight of the event was the induction of the Faculty’s first Beta Gamma Sigma members. The students selected for membership represent the highest-achieving scholars in their respective programs and were chosen based on their academic performance, leadership potential, integrity, and commitment to excellence. As members, they gain access to an international network of business leaders, executives, entrepreneurs, and academics.

During the ceremony, Dr. Karim Rebeiz, Dean of FOBM, noted that the establishment of the chapter reflects the Faculty’s commitment to international standards in business education and to fostering a culture of academic achievement and ethical leadership.

The inductees were formally welcomed into the Society and received their Beta Gamma Sigma certificates and membership pins, marking their entry into a global community that spans more than 190 countries.

The new chapter will serve as a platform for recognizing outstanding student achievement, promoting leadership development, and strengthening connections between students, alumni, and the broader business community. It also represents an important achievement in the Faculty’s continued efforts to enhance its international engagement and educational excellence.
