UOB Students Complete SDG Brain Lab Program

A total of 54 University of Balamand (UOB) students participated in the fifth edition of the SDG Brain Lab on Just Transition, an accelerator program launched by the United Nations Global Compact Network Lebanon (UN GCNL). The program empowers young Lebanese leaders between the ages of 18 and 24 to deepen their understanding of sustainability and contribute to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through collaboration with industry and community partners.

The year-long program brought together participants from universities across Lebanon in a shared sustainability journey, featuring expert-led learning sessions, cross-sector collaboration, and company-based challenges focused on developing practical solutions to sustainability issues. Through this experience, students strengthened their leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while engaging with experts from various sectors. UOB was also represented during the program's closing event by Mrs. Diala Farah, Director of the Career Services Center, who served as one of four panelists in the discussion titled "Cross-sectoral Collaboration for Sustainability Leaders in Lebanon."

In recognition of their active engagement and commitment throughout the program, students Elie Massoud and Mohammad Hindi were selected to serve as UOB's SDG Ambassadors. As ambassadors, they will continue promoting the Sustainable Development Goals within the University and their communities while participating in future sustainability initiatives and awareness activities.

UOB remains committed to empowering students through experiential learning opportunities and strategic partnerships that foster leadership, innovation, and sustainable development.
