UOB Students Participate in the 14th Lebanese Army Workshop on International Humanitarian Law

The Department of Political Science and International Affairs at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Balamand, along with other universities, was honored to participate in the 14th Lebanese Army Workshop on International Humanitarian Law.

Representing the Department, students Eva Reina Moussa and Mohammad Ali Arab attended the four-day program, which brought together students from leading Lebanese universities for discussions, case studies, and interactive sessions led by Lebanese Army officers in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The workshop covered key topics including the foundations of international humanitarian law, the International Criminal Court, and the protection of cultural heritage and the environment during armed conflicts. A proud moment for the University was selecting the student Mohammad Ali Arab to deliver a speech before General Ziad Rizkalla, representing the Army Commander, along with ICRC officials and university deans.

The workshop offered UOB students valuable exposure to the principles and practice of international humanitarian law, complementing their academic studies with direct engagement with legal and humanitarian professionals.
