Third UOB Interventional Pain Medicine Workshop

Third UOB Interventional Pain Medicine Workshop

The Faculty of Medicine and Medical Sciences (FOM) at the University of Balamand (UOB) held its third Interventional Pain Medicine Workshop in Lebanon, titled “Hands-on Cadaver Spine & MSK Ultrasound” on September 13, 2026, at the Anatomy Department of the University of Balamand, Koura Campus.

This unique workshop in Lebanon was organized under the leadership of Professor Maroun Ghabach, President of the Congress, and brought together faculty members, physicians, residents, and fellows for a day of hands-on training in interventional pain techniques.

The workshop featured an expert international and local faculty, including Dr. Zbigniew Kirkor, Dr. Jihad Geha, Dr. George Mezher, and Dr. Jean-Claude Stephan, who shared their expertise in spine, peripheral nerve, sacroiliac, pelvic, and musculoskeletal interventions. Participants rotated through three practical stations using C-arm fluoroscopy and ultrasound, allowing them to practice techniques under the direct guidance of the specialists.

The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between anatomical knowledge and clinical practice by helping participants translate anatomy into imaging, identify precise procedural targets, and develop safe and accurate needle-placement skills.

Through interactive training, discussion, and hands-on practice, this workshop emphasized the importance of precision, safety, and effective patient care in interventional pain medicine.
