Professor Mirna N. Chahine, Professor of Biology and Cardiovascular Pathophysiology at the University of Balamand (UOB), Faculty of Arts and Sciences, has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Vascular Health and Risk Management, an international peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Dove Medical Press, part of the Taylor & Francis Group.

Vascular Health and Risk Management focuses on vascular health and disease, hypertension, vascular biology, cardiovascular risk assessment and prevention, therapeutics, and translational and clinical research. The journal is the official journal of the International Society of Vascular Health and is indexed in major international databases, including MEDLINE/PubMed and Scopus. It currently has a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 3.2 (Q2) and a CiteScore of 5.2 (Q1).

In her role as Editor-in-Chief, Professor Chahine will lead the journal’s scientific and editorial development, shaping its academic direction while upholding the highest standards of quality and integrity. She will work closely with the Associate Editors, Editorial Board members, reviewers, authors, and the publishing teams at Dove Medical Press and Taylor & Francis to further strengthen the journal’s scholarly impact and international reach.

Professor Chahine holds a PhD in Cell Biology from the Université de Sherbrooke, Canada, and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Manitoba and Imperial College London. Her research focuses on cardiovascular and vascular health, hypertension, cardiovascular risk and prevention, and translational biomedical research. She has published extensively, led nationally and internationally funded research projects, and received several international distinctions, including the Newton International Fellowship from the British Royal Society.

This appointment is a distinguished recognition of Dr. Chahine’s scientific excellence, international standing, and academic leadership. ​
