The University of Balamand’s (UOB) Faculty of Engineering (FOE) is proud to announce another significant achievement in its continued pursuit of academic excellence: ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accreditation for all our 5 Bachelor of Engineering’s (BE) degrees in Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering accredited to
September 30, 2031. This accreditation action extends retroactively from
October 1, 2023, reaffirming the faculty’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards in engineering education.
FOE demonstrated its unwavering determination and commitment to excellence while preparing for this major evaluation, reflecting its continued and sustained pursuit of the highest standards in engineering education. The rigorous four-day ABET review, conducted from November 2–5, 2025, highlighted the faculty’s resilience, innovation, forward thinking, and steadfast commitment to excellence in engineering education. During the comprehensive evaluation, the ABET team reviewed the curriculum, faculty members, current students, alumni, and industry feedback, as well as the Faculty’s and University’s infrastructure and resources supporting the engineering education mission.
This achievement marks an exceptional milestone for the Faculty of Engineering, which now proudly holds double ABET accreditation, with all five of its Bachelor of Science (
BS ) and all five of its Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programs accredited by ABET. This distinction is a powerful testament to the faculty’s sustained commitment to international standards of engineering education and places the University of Balamand in a distinguished position, offering students recognized engineering programs across both degree pathways.
Vice President for Internationalization and Engagement and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Professor Rami Abboud, expressed his pride in this outstanding achievement, emphasizing that the new accreditation reflects the collective efforts of the entire UOB and engineering community. He noted that this accreditation is a recognition of the faculty’s unwavering commitment to academic quality, student success, innovation, and the continuous advancement of engineering education. This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and sustained efforts of the faculty’s students, alumni, faculty members, staff, and administrators, a nd most notably our President, Dr. Elias Warrak, whose steadfast support and deep belief in the Faculty of Engineering’s mission and achievements, continue to inspire our pursuit of excellence and our commitment to building a better and a sustainable future.
