The University of Balamand congratulates Professor Charbel Dagher, Professor of Arabic Literature and Arts at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, who was awarded the Great Arab Minds Award 2025 in the category of Literature and Arts.

Professor Dagher received this regional award on 15 January 2026 in Dubai from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in recognition of his long-standing scholarly contributions to Arabic literature and Arab art, and for his dedication to advancing Arab cultural thought. H.E congratulated Professor Dagher on his achievement, highlighting the importance of literature and the arts in the life of societies and civilizations.

Professor Dagher is widely known for his academic and research work, which spans poetry, literary studies, and the study of Arab art, and for his efforts to connect Arab cultural heritage with modern and global perspectives.

He was also congratulated by the President of the Lebanese Republic, President Joseph Aoun, who praised his scholarly achievements and highlighted the importance of his contributions to Arabic literature and Arab cultural thought.
