The University of Balamand UOB signed an MOU with the Economic Emergency Committee on UOB campus- Akkar, fostering educational development. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Elie Karam Dean of the Issam Fares Faculty of Technology at UOB, Dr. Khaled Aitani President of the Economic Emergency Committee, Aboud Maraab Head of the Dreib Al- Awsat Union of Municipalities, Omar Al-Hayek Head of the Naher Al-Astwan Union of Municipalities, Roni Al-Hajj Head of the Jumma Union of Municipalities, Dr. Mohammed Khedrini Director of Abdullah Al-Rassi Governmental Hospital, Dr. Mohammed Ali, Dr. Nora Al-Mar'abi, Counselor Khalid Mohammed Al-Zu'bi, as well as UOB directors, educators, association presidents, and others.

In his speech, Dr. Karam, Highlighted the ongoing scientific revolution and the pervasive presence of technology worldwide, stressing the significance of utilizing this technology to advance both academic and practical pursuits. Dr. Aitani outlined the integration project's significance and strategies for success, stressing the need to train employees to transition companies and institutions from emerging to advanced levels. He encouraged school principals to stay abreast of developments for institutional progress, particularly by instructing students in informatics to enhance their programming abilities. Additionally, he highlighted their provision of scholarships to high-performing students and their ongoing SAT training for over 2900 students. ​
