Dr. Sami Azar Ranks Among the Top Researchers Worldwide

Professor Sami Azar, Vice President for Medical Affairs and Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Medical Sciences at the University of Balamand, has ranked among the top researchers worldwide in an international study by AD Scientific Index 2023.

Dr. Azar has ranked as number one in Lebanon, number 27 in Asia, and number 228 worldwide in the field of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Dr Azar is a past-president of the Lebanese Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Lipids and is the president-elect of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology-Lebanon and Middle East chapter.

Dr Azar focuses on conducting clinical and basic research in the field of diabetes. He has mentored more than 50 PhD students and endocrine fellows, received many national and international research grants and awards and has published more than 250 peer-reviewed articles.​
