The University of Balamand (UOB) would like to congratulate Dr. Habbouba Aoun, the director of Souk Al Ghareb Campus of UOB and the director of the Community Engagement Department at the Faculty of Health Sciences at UOB, for being elected as women of the year 2022 organized by Google and “Support Strong Lebanon”.
Dr. Aoun won the category of “Media and Politics” with 471,000 votes as well as the “Beauty and Art” category with more than 618,000 votes over the other contestant. Dr. Aoun’s total votes scored around 800,000.
Dr. Aoun has a Doctorate degree in Public Health and Development, a Master of Science degree in Population Studies, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health. She also completed many advanced courses in epidemiology, leadership, and in emergency preparedness and humanitarian response.
Dr. Aoun has also contributed to the development of the school health program in the Ministry of Education in Lebanon and other Arab countries. ​
