Medical Laboratory Sciences - Clinical Chemistry

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Balamand (UOB), Lebanon, invites applicants for a full-time faculty appointment in the field of Clinical Toxicology and Forensics, or Clinical Biochemistry or Clinical Chemistry at the level of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, effective Fall 2022.

The University of Balamand is dedicated to graduating professionals who are well-rounded, critical thinkers, life-long learners, and active citizens in their respective societies. The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Health Sciences, including Medical Laboratory Sciences, Public Health, Nutritional Sciences, and Nursing with pre-medical tracks. Programs are offered on three campuses: Dekwaneh-Beirut, Koura, and Souk El Gharb. The language of instruction is English.

The Faculty encourages multidisciplinary teamwork, research, and collaboration with different academic institutions and university teaching hospitals. The academic environment in the Medical Laboratory Sciences Department supports learning/mentorship and assists students to acquire Clinical Laboratory hands-on work experience.

The Medical Laboratory Sciences department has two programs: Graduate and Undergraduate. The undergraduate program has two tracks: regular track and pre-med track. The Master of Clinical Laboratory Sciences has also three concentrations: Two tracks thesis based, molecular biology and infectious disease and immunology. The third track is a professional degree in laboratory management. An academic position is currently open for faculty with a PhD degree and with expertise in Clinical Toxicology and Clinical Chemistry.

The successful candidate is expected to teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs, engage in interdisciplinary research, and undertake community-based activities. PhD-holder faculty with expertise in the above area are welcome to apply. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include health insurance, end-of-service indemnity, and assistance with children’s education.
